Thankfully, this beef stew is so easy to prepare and cook in the slow cooker that you can have it any day of the week!

This is my favorite Italian beef recipe, handed down to me from an old neighbor in Illinois. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does. Serve with French rolls and pepperoncinis.

Ingredients | Beef Suet Pudding Slow Cooker

1 (6 pound) rump roast

3 cups water

2 tablespoons dried basil

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon parsley flakes

3 bay leaves

1 ½ teaspoons red pepper flakes

⅓ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste

Directions

Combine roast, water, basil, oregano, salt, garlic powder, parsley flakes, bay leaves, red pepper flakes, and black pepper together in a slow cooker.

Cook in the slow cooker set to Low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove bay leaves and shred meat using two forks.
