This non-Manwich® sloppy joe recipe will be sure to turn heads on the traditional comfort food.Ingredients | Venison Meatballs Healthy3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided1 yellow onion, diced1 red bell pepper, diced1 jalapeno pepper, diced1 pound ground venison1 pinch ground black pepper, or to taste1 pinch ground cayenne pepper, or to taste1 pinch grill seasoning (such as Montreal Steak Seasoning®), or to taste1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste1 dash Worcestershire sauce1 vine-ripened tomato, diced2 tablespoons barbeque sauce, or more to taste2 tablespoons ketchup (such as Heinz®), or more to taste2 teaspoons tomato paste, or more to taste2 teaspoons hot sauce, or more to taste4 hamburger buns, split1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheeseDirectionsHeat 1 1/2 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, red bell pepper, and jalapeno; cook and stir until softened, 5 to 8 minutes.Heat remaining 1 1/2 tablespoon oil in another skillet over medium heat. Add venison; cook and stir until lightly browned, 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in black pepper, cayenne pepper, grill seasoning, garlic salt, and Worcestershire sauce; cook until venison is browned, 4 to 5 minutes.Combine tomato, barbeque sauce, ketchup, tomato paste, and hot sauce in a food processor; pulse until sauce is combined.Combine onion mixture, venison mixture, and sauce in a saucepan. Simmer until flavors combine, 10 to 15 minutes.
