For people who don't want tons of sugar in their rubs, it's a nice change to provide lighter ribs. When I don't have spare ribs, I have pork chops.Ingredients | Sweet And Sour Spare Ribs Hong Kong Style1 pound pork spareribs, cut into 3 inch pieces1 tablespoon vegetable oil1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, sliced5 green onions cut into 2-inch pieces½ teaspoon ground cinnamon2 cups water1 ½ tablespoons soy sauce1 teaspoon white sugar1 teaspoon rice wine¼ teaspoon salt¼ teaspoon pepperDirectionsBring a large pot of water to a boil, then add the spareribs, and cook uncovered for 3 to 5 minutes. Drain in a colander and set aside.Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Stir in the ginger, green onions, and cinnamon; cook and stir until fragrant.
