This tahini sauce is a delicious dressing for gyros or falafel patties.

Ingredients | Tahini Yogurt Sauce For Shawarma

⅔ cup plain Greek yogurt

⅓ cup tahini

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

½ teaspoon minced garlic

½ teaspoon ground cumin

salt to taste

2 tablespoons water, or more as needed

¼ teaspoon sumac powder (Optional)

Directions

Place yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and salt in a small bowl; whisk until combined. Add water and continue to whisk until the sauce has reached the desired consistency. Sprinkle with sumac.

A mini food processor may be used in place of a whisk, if desired. Pulse ingredients to combine; then add water and process to reach the desired consistency.
